South Bend, Indiana—October 4, 2007—Imagine, a South Bend, Indiana, visual marketing firm, and TRANSPO, South Bend’s Public Transportation Corporation, were awarded First Place and Grand Prize in the Print Media category for their “Sweep” brochure in the 2007 AdWheel Awards, held by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA).
The APTA AdWheel Awards honor excellence in public transportation marketing, advertising, promotion, and communications nationwide.
“Looking to reach a Generation Y target audience, TRANSPO, in Indiana, turned convention on its side and created its winning, eye-catching brochure, promoting its service in a format that played to the generational uniqueness of the college-age rider,” states the APTA website.
“The task of creating pieces that brand public transit as an attractive alternative method of travel can be a challenge. Imagine’s team pulled off a unique perspective each time, both building awareness of our variety of services and in reaching our diverse demographics,” said Sarah Ermeti, Director of Administration at TRANSPO.
“We are honored and extremely pleased whenever we see the fruits of our labor pay off for the benefit of our clients,” said David Coleman, Director of Marketing at Imagine. “As a visual marketing firm, we generally don’t enter into design award competitions, but a few of our clients have entered some of the materials we’ve created with them. To see our client’s satisfaction, and the effect of our efforts on their bottom line, is what gives us the most pleasure.”
APTA is the leading international organization in the advancement of public transportation. As an advocate for safe, efficient and economical transit services, it has represented the transit industry for over 100 years, since 1882.
